ACADEMIC PLANNING FOR ARCHITECTURE

The curriculum planning for a B. Arch degree program includes Architectural Design as the core subject, continuing throughout the course.

• Subjects which impart graphic skills like Visual Arts and Graphics including computer graphics is also part of the curriculum.
• Building Construction is an important subject which deals with materials, methods, and techniques of construction of different types of buildings.
• Building Services includes Water Supply & Sanitation, Electricity & Illumination, Heating Ventilation & Air conditioning, and Acoustics.
• The knowledge base for the Architecture course comes from courses like History of Architecture & Theory of Architecture.
• Technology oriented courses include Structures, Surveying and Levelling, Climatol­ogy and Earthquake resistant structures.
• Humanities courses include Sociology and Economics, Constitutional Law and Communication Skills.
• Specializations in the field of Architecture are introduced through courses such as Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management and Electives like
  Environment Responsive Architecture, Architectural Photography, Vernacular Architecture, Product Design etc.,
• Physical Planning is taught for two semesters to introduce the subject and provide the knowledge about the connect of Architect to the physical environment .
• Students wil be training under reputed Architects as part of their internship.
